A Day at Camp

We spent the day at the first Cupcake Camp Chandler.  CHP was a proud room sponsor for the event.  The day was filled with informative discussions about decorating, baking materials, marketing, and the baking business.  Yelp was the moderator for the ‘Cupcakes as a Business’ discussion panel.  The panel:  Joan O’Conn0r (Honey Moon Sweets), Kelly Garcia (Butter and Me), and Sarah (Pint Size Creations) offered great insight into the ‘real’ business of baking. Not all sugary sweet, I might add.  Just like any other business, the logistics of product production, distribution, and customer satisfaction have to be balanced.  The common thread between the panel members was they all loved what they were doing; and I believe that is key to success. The day ended with the long awaited cupcake tasting, yummy.  We had a great time meeting new folks and learning about the complexities of cupcakes.
